Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area is a comprehensive highlight and feature program, covering more than 170 high schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The show airs each week in prime time on Sunday nights at 6 and 11 p.m. on KOFY TV 20 (Cable 13). Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area is rebroadcast on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. (and replays throughout the week) on Comcast SportsNet California.
The show is co-hosted by Robert Braunstein and Therese Vinal. Cal-Hi Sports bay Area is produced using all digital equipment and is edited on computer for a clean look with sparkling highlights every week. The studio is based at the Silver Creek Sportsplex in south San Jose.
With a combined 20 years of experience covering high school sports on television, Robert has created and produced the first-ever high school sports show to air in a major television market. Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area is viewed in more than 50,000 homes each week and was named best high school sports show in the nation by Student Sports. Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area teams with MaxPreps.com, Calhisports.com, and Mercurynews.com to create a powerful high school resource through TV, internet, and local newspapers. Robert Braunstein - Executive Producer / Host Robert is in his 20th year covering high school sports in the Bay Area. In 1992, Robert created High School Sports Focus as the first show of its kind ever produced in a major television market. In 2002, Robert started his own production company to produce Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area in cooperation with the Cal-Hi Sports web site. Robert is a graduate of San Jose State University and earned a Masters in Journalism from the University of Missouri. Robert has won a variety of awards including two Emmys. In his time off, Robert spends lots of time with his wife, Ann, and his two children, Kelly and Daniel. Roberts loves his Monday night poker game, watching movies, and following the high school athletes he has covered, who are now in the college and the pros. Therese Vinal - Reporter / Co-Host Therese started with Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area in October of 2008 and is back for her fourth full season. Therese is a proud graduate of Presentation High School where she played on the Panthers Varsity volleyball and basketball teams. Therese then went on to the University of Colorado where she played Libero on the Buffalo's Volleyball team for four years. Therese comes from a sports minded family, her father is a coach, her mother a former PE teacher, and her younger brothera red shirt freshman on the Cal Poly football team. Little known fact: Therese was a model for Colorado University in the Big 12 calendar. |

Dan Harris - Supervising Producer / Reporter Dan returns to Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area for a fourth season. A graduate of San Jose State University, Dan produced newscasts for the university's award-winning Update News, featured on local television. While a senior at San Jose State, Dan worked as a production assistant at KRON-4 News Weekend. Dan began his career in journalism at Los Gatos High School acting as play-by-play and co-producer of many student-run live sports telecasts, and as co-anchor of the high school's sports magazine show, CATSports. Dan is also an accomplished theater director, having worked at many of the area's schools with kids of all ages, including Kiss Me, Kate at Los Gatos High School in 2004. Fun fact: Dan worked at Double D's Sports Grille in Los Gatos for almost 10 years. |

Marissa Lovus - Reporter Marissa is the newest reporter on Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area and looks forward to her first season. Marissa is a recent graduate of San Jose State University where she was a sports reporter and anchor for Update News. Growing up in sunny Southern California, sports have always played a big role in Marissa's life. When she wasn't watching sports on television with her dad, she was attending several sporting events. Little known fact: Marissa played a bratty younger sister in an acne commercial featuring actor Adam Brody |

Taylor Lambert - Reporter Taylor is the newest reporter for Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area and is looking forward to his first season. A graduate of San Francisco State University, Taylor enjoyed every second of his Gator career and is glad to be back in the Bay Area after leaving for his career. Stops along the way included Sports Director at KTVF in Fairbanks, Alaska where he covered such well known sports as Mushing and Rifle! Most recently Taylor was up the North Coast in Eureka, CA where he covered sports for KIEM Channel 3. Taylor's career has taken him all over the country but now it's time to get back into the Bay Area sports scene. Fun Fact: After a winter in Alaska at -40 degrees, Taylor is thankful to still have all 10 toes and 10 fingers.

Joey De Stefano - Videographer Joey De Stefano joins the staff on a permanent basis this year. Joey attends San Jose State University and is a graduate of Leigh High School in San Jose. Joey played on the Longhorns Varsity football team and has a passion for videography and video editing. Joey is proficient with a variety of software tools allowing him to help with internet and video production. Joey has been shooting sports for the past six years and has his own video web site! |
